My entry to the 'Found in Space' contest didn't make the cut, but that says nothing about its quality. With over 800 submissions, there are gonna be a lot of amazing pieces of miniproze left in the cold, so I'm cool hanging with the other rejects. The finalists who did get chosen are to be found here It got me writing, so that was worth something.
Originally for Boing Boing's I expected many things when I was chosen as the first human being to experience FTL travel. Hardships, things going wrong. Hell, I even expected to die. What I hadn't expected was this. None of the 'scientists' who had instructed me and had tried to explain what an FTL drive actually does had seemingly known this was a possibility. Yet here I was. And so was I. Staring at one another. “So, you broke through the dimensional rift in that thing?” I said.
Woodworcks If you've ever wondered what the shit I've been writing is like, this is your chance. Go read, go comment, let me know what cardinal sins I've committed and I'll be better due to it! Thanks in advance! (now go!)
Well, it's been months in the making (a first demo was recorded in October last year but was deemed too low-quality to use) and it's finally here! If you click more, you can read more about how the demo took shape and what horrors we've faced getting a demo ready for the world.
I haven't written properly in months. There are scraps of story ideas everywhere - in my Moleskines, in a folder on my laptop, in a seperate folder on my desktop and if I scan the room, I see at least 7 post-its with story ideas lying either under the sofa or under the TV cabinet. Their location doesn't matter, they're all valuable in one way or another. I'm afraid to pick up the ones underneath the sofa and TV cabinet because it might not be their time yet. And in my grand misunderstanding of how my own mind works, I may throw them out. Only to forget what they had on them forever.
I've not drawn for real ever since I stopped doing Scruffbutt This comic (probably a one-off) also marks the first comic I've done without sketching ever. This comes straight from the Moleskine, without any touch-ups, save for some level adjustments. ![]() Click the image above or the "Read More" link to read Fargo in: Fargo finds a ball!
Last Saturday my band, The Boys and Crash The audience was not quite what you'd call our target audience, but they applauded and most seemed to enjoy what we were doing. Or at least appreciated the effort, but I honestly can't be bothered with the details. I'm on a high.
I recently came across this still in a 'Guess the Movie' game thread on a forum, and I couldn't help but notice the Creature ![]() *ring* *ring* "Yeah?... Bob, this isn't a good time. No. I'm serious, I'm kidnapping a lady at the moment. What? No, that's NOT what my parole officer said. Listen, Bob, cut to the chase. What do you want? What? No, that's NOT what I told him! ARRRGH! Why doesn't anybody... *sigh* Okay, here's what we're going to do. You're going to send the proofs to the client anyway, and I'll call Gary about the colour requirements once I'm done with my kidnapping. Right. Uhuh. Let me know how it goes, okay? Yeah, you too. See you at the office tomorrow. Hahaha, no, no, relax, I won't. No, I'll leave her in my lagoon. Alright. Talk to you later." *click* "Now, little lady, where were we..." *evil monster chuckle*
This was a project I envisioned over two years ago and worked on and off on for about a year. In this time, the graphics underwent some major overhauls, mostly to make them more manageable when it came to animation. I'm not an animation hero, so that was an important point.
The title screen. Dark and gloomy, just the way I like it
We're working hard to get our demo out so we can get some gigs, and one part of getting a demo out is make sure it's got striking looks. While I have no experience with CD cover art, I did my best. The font's not necessarily what's needed, but that can be fixed later. ![]() Hopefully I can send it to the printer soon, so we can start burning. The CD labeling will probably just be similarly printed stickers. We're cheap. Edit: Due to some unforseen events, we've had to change the logo. New logo was drawn by yours truly.
